Simple walkthrough of transferred momentum technique

Step by step sequence of transferred momentum. Step 1  Solar sail  propelled “Bricks” are launched to LEO.  “Bricks” are small <30kg and can accelerate from photons at a rate of ~200 m/s per month at Mars, ~460 m/s per month at Earth and ~1440 m/s per month at Venus distances from the Sun.  Functional equivalent average from Earth to Mars is 280 m/s per month.  This corresponds to a real world acceleration of 0.175 mm/s^2 which is very conservative. Taking out the Space Trash

Currently when ISS has trash it sends it back in a Dragon module which has 10 m^3 of human rated volume.  With the addition of some ports to allow long term parking of dragon modules and a space hatch that can be pressurized and depressurized it would be possible to have a “trash bag” module that isn’t even pressurized but is able to store trash and act as a vehicle for reentry and burn up powered by a single dragon module.  You could almost imagine it being an actual trash bag that is multiple times thicker.  It only has to last

If I were Axiom building space stations this is how I would do it.

Building a space station cheaply should involve re-using all the pieces that are already made and thrown away or COTS parts that have been tested in space. But if you tried to do that today there would be a lot of engineering to integrate those technologies.  So there is room for the “operating system” company to take all the individual space “apps” and combine them into something resembling space station 2.0 and like Microsoft they may eventually emerge owning everything. How Mars could ship sand to Earth by 2100 and compete on Price.

Shipping sand from Mars to Earth is a relatively simple concept and I will use a new currency called Mars Dollars for Mars only resources and Earth US dollars for Earth based assets. In 2100 several industries are advanced enough on Mars that they can function independently from Earth. Mars has a way to manufacture their own solar or solar thermal power without consuming any Earth resources, using Earth manpower, using Earth computers or machines etc. Mars has its own Mass Driver like a coil-gun or railgun that can launch mass from Mars surface to outer space to orbit around the sun.

Ballistic Skip Capture fact or fiction?

The concept presented here is pretty simple but I am not a trajectory design guy so if I misunderstand something or misstate something please don’t jump all over me. I understand the Traditional L1 Ballistic capture issue as follows,  In order to get to the moon a velocity on the order of ~3.2 km/s is needed but the moon travels at 1km/s and can only hold onto spacecraft practically at an additional velocity of ~1 km/s.  So there needs to be a large burn to slow down at the moon.  So the total energy to moon orbit is around 4500
